DIRECTIONS FROM EAST PHOENIX: 212 Miles

  1. Take Loop 202 or SR60 (Superstition Freeway) to I-10 South
  2. Exit on SR 347 (exit 164) and head towards Maricopa
  3. Continue on SR 347 through Maricopa until you reach SR 238 Towards Mobile (aka Dead Cow Road)
  4. SR 238 will end at a STOP sign. Turn left at the STOP sign and it will put you into Gila Bend
  5. Continue through Gila Bend until you reach McDonalds. Turn right at the sign just before the McDonald for Mexico/SR 85 South.
  6. Take SR 85 South to Ajo (39 miles)
  7. Continue on SR 85 South to Why, AZ (10 miles)
  8. Continue on SR 85 South to Lukeville, AZ (27 miles)
  9. Lukeville is the border between USA and Mexico. Once you cross the border, you  will be in Sonoyta, Mexico. At this time, distances change from miles to kilometers.
  10. Continue on the main road for approximately 1.8  miles.  You will arrive at a 2-way intersection with a stop sign. At  this time, you will see a monument and signs for Puerto Penasco and  Santa Ana.  Follow the sins to Puerto Penasco.
  11. Stay to the right towards Puerto Penasco/Carborca at the Y on the road.  There is a  traffic light soon after you bear right. Continue straight through this traffic light to Mexico Highway 8.
  12. Once you have gone through  Sonoyta, continue on Highway 8 to Puerto Penasco (60 miles).  Along the  way, there is a sign that says El PTO Penasco. DO NOT turn at this  sign.  It is in the middle of the desert.  Continue on Highway 8 until  you arrive at the first stop light.

DIRECTIONS FROM WEST  PHOENIX: 212 Miles

  1. Take I-10W to Buckeye
  2. Exit State Route 85 South and continue to Gila Bend/I-8 San Diego
  3. After reaching Gila Bend, continue until you reach McDonalds. Turn right at  the sign just before the McDonald for Mexico/SR 85 South.
  4. Take SR 85 South to Ajo (39 miles)
  5. Continue on SR 85 South to Why, AZ(10 miles)
  6. Continue on SR 85 South to Lukeville, AZ (27 miles)

DIRECTIONS FROM TUCSON: 212 Miles

  1. Take I-10 to I-19 South
  2. After approximately 1 mile, exit onto SR 86 West (Ajo Highway)
  3. Continue on SR 86 West until you arrive at the intersection of SR 85 in Why, AZ
  4. Turn left (South) on SR 85
  5. Continue on SR 85 South to Lukeville, AZ until you reach the US/Mexico border (30 miles)
  6. Lukeville is the border between USA and Mexico. Once you cross the border, you  will be in Sonoyta, Mexico. At this time, distances change from miles to kilometers.
  7. Continue on the main road for approximately 1.8  miles.  You will arrive at a 2-way intersection with a stop sign. At  this time, you will see a monument and signs for Puerto Penasco and  Santa Ana.  Follow the sins to Puerto Penasco.

DIRECTIONS FROM  CALIFORNIA VIA THE COASTAL HIGHWAY

    1. 8E
    2. Take Exit 166 - Algadones and make a RIGHT 
    3. Cross the Algadones Border - you will be traveling on Calle Segunda aka Calle 2a and soon come to a dead end (T Intersection)
    4. Make a LEFT-you will cross a bridge and continue on a narrow 2 way street for about 17.5 miles
    5. Follow the signs to Mex 2 - SLR Colorado
    6. Go under the bridge and make a LEFT
    7. Continue on to San Luis for about 2 miles and you will reach the toll booth (Cost is 12 pesos)
    8. Follow signs to Golfo de Santa Clara and Puerto Penaso - you are in  downtown San Luis right now and will travel about 7 miles in downtown
    9. Exit Puerto Fronterizo and make a RIGHT at stop sign to 197 - Golfo de Santa Clara for about 8.5 miles
    10. You will come to a around about and follow the signs to Puerto Penasco & Santa Clara
    11. You will come to a Toll booth (Cost is 105 pesos) and keep on this road for about 28.5 miles
    12. Make a LEFT at stop sign that says Son 40 - Caborca, Puerto Penasco  & Golfo Santa Clara and travel about 1.5 miles to military check  point
    13. After the military check point you will continue traveling for about  23 miles and come to Son - Puerto Penasco
